There is much talk in spiritual circles of manifesting, envisioning or creating what you want or desire. I do acknowledge that it is possible to draw to you what you desire, there is a Universal law of attraction. However I question whether such manifestation is in the best interest of the person concerned and of all life.
When people attempt to manifest it often comes from the mind or ego. It can often be based on manifesting external material things, driven by a sense of lack e.g. once I get that big house/car/partner/something else then I'll be happy. Such acquisitions rarely bring about lasting happiness or joy.
Instead we could watch and observe what feels right in each moment and then co-create with the Universe, noticing what we are being shown along the way. There is a Universal flow or energy all around us that is continually shifting and creating. I prefer to align my soul with this flow and feel what inspires me from that connected place. When aligned with the Universe through my soul I always have what I need and more.

Manifesting or Co-creating
Sometimes it's the path or exploration along the way rather than a particular outcome that's important. Many times I have experienced being led in an apparent direction, for example I explored travelling to Canada, there were loads of synchronicites around it and I felt a strong pull. I went in to a cafe and there was a travel brochure for Canada and the lovely guy who served me had family in Canada and traveled there often. The same day a friend posted honeymoon photos from there. However when I paid close attention, I realized that I wasn't that enthused by the Canadian photos and the energy around it began to shift until it was clear that the trip wasn't right for me at that time. However I did learn much about myself, synchronicity and observing the flow through the exploration. If I had become fixed on manifesting a trip to Canada, I would have missed the shifting energy and the lessons to be learned.
Why we are here?
I believe we are here to have a human experience and learn more about ourselves. How can my mind alone judge what experience might fulfill that learning and my evolving? The connected knowing in my heart and soul is a better guide. Often in my life the most challenging experiences (which I would never have consciously chosen), have been the greatest gifts and led to immense discovery and growth. Additionally, there is a danger of focusing on a particular outcome and becoming so blinkered by it that we miss many other golden opportunities in our landscape.
